JOINT DISORDERS/ TMD

Joint disorders are a group of pathologies that affect the structures of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The most common are disc displacements, disc dislocations (joint noise) with or without reduction, and osteoarthritis (crepitus noise). Many of these disorders may be asymptomatic, but others may become complicated by acute phases of pain, inflammation of the surrounding tissues (retrodiquitis, synovitis), and other unpleasant symptoms: tinnitus (ringing in the ear), plethora (sensation of water in the ear), stabbing pains, hearing loss, etc.

It is essential to complement the clinical picture with imaging according to the pathology.
